In a significant move to enhance healthcare services, Kiambu County Governor Dr. Kimani Wamatangi has launched state-of-the-art medical equipment across various hospitals in the county. This initiative is part of the county’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare accessibility and quality for its residents.
Among the beneficiaries of this initiative is Karuri Level 4 Hospital, located in Kiambaa Sub-County. As a Level 4 facility, Karuri Hospital provides comprehensive medical services, including inpatient and outpatient care, surgical procedures, and specialized treatments.
The newly acquired medical equipment includes digital X-ray machines, advanced ultrasound systems, and life-saving dialysis machines. These additions are expected to significantly enhance diagnostic capabilities and treatment options at Karuri Hospital and other facilities in the region. Governor Wamatangi emphasized that the county has allocated KSh2.5 billion for equipping health facilities, with KSh500 million dedicated to renewing equipment in existing hospitals and KSh2 billion for outfitting six new Level 4 and 26 Level 3 hospitals currently under construction.
This development is part of a broader strategy to expand and upgrade healthcare infrastructure in Kiambu County. The county government has initiated the construction of new health centers and the expansion of existing ones to bring quality healthcare closer to residents. The completion of these projects will increase the number of health facilities in the county, thereby improving access to medical services.
Residents have expressed optimism about these advancements, anticipating reduced travel distances for specialized treatments and improved overall healthcare experiences. The county’s commitment to investing in healthcare infrastructure and equipment underscores its dedication to enhancing the well-being of its citizens.
