Trans Nzoia County is set to enhance its healthcare services with the completion of the Tom Mboya Mother and Child Level IV Hospital. Governor George Natembeya announced the completion of this state-of-the-art facility, expressing gratitude to the exceptional team that made it possible.
This project, a collaboration between the World Bank and the county government, represents a significant investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure. The World Bank contributed KSh105 million, while the county government allocated KSh95 million, culminating in a total investment of KSh200 million.
The hospital is equipped with modern amenities designed to provide comprehensive healthcare services. It features a mother and baby wing complete with its own theatre, mental and palliative care units, as well as renal treatment and dialysis sections. These facilities aim to address the diverse medical needs of the community, ensuring that residents have access to quality care close to home.
The establishment of the Tom Mboya Mother and Child Level IV Hospital is expected to significantly decongest the Kitale County Referral Hospital by providing an alternative center for specialized maternal and child healthcare services. This development underscores the county’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and accessibility for its residents.
The completion of this hospital marks a pivotal moment in Trans Nzoia County’s healthcare journey, promising a healthier future for mothers and children in the region.
